Ever wonder what that group of stars is to the east, or how to find the Great Nebula in Orion? During this program, you will learn how to read a star map, use pointer stars to find deep space objects, and how to effectively use a pair of binoculars to enhance your enjoyment of the night sky. Ages 6 years+ with an adult. (younger children are welcome with their family but the program content is geared for kids ages 6 years + and adults.) Please dress to be outside, at night, and standing still while looking at the stars. Dress in warm layers. Hand & foot warmers are recommended. Please bring a flashlight preferably with a red filter or bulb. Feel free to bring your own binoculars and/or telescope. We also recommend chairs or blanket to sit on, snacks, water, hot chocolate, etc. You will meet the naturalist in the main parking lot of Hildebrand Ranch Park at the kiosk. This program will involve little to no hiking.
