Evergreen Elks Lodge to Hold 9 th Annual Field of Honor
Evergreen Elks Lodge is announcing its 9 th annual Field of Honor that will take place on the
Lodge grounds at 27972 Iris Drive. This event takes place on Armed Forces Day (Saturday, May
20 th } and begins at 12 noon. Flags will be flown until Thursday, June 15 th , 2023 (International
Day of Peace). The Field of Honor that involves creating a dramatic, emotional-filled display of
American flags, is open to the public, and the public is encouraged to participate and attend.
Tours and refreshments will be provided as well as music by Pat Travis and The Barley Bros.
Flags are available for purchase and dedication in honor of whoever the purchaser would like to
honor. This includes but is not limited to veterans, active or reserve duty military, individuals or
a 1st responder, grandfathers, fathers, sons, grandmothers, mothers, daughters. This tribute
exemplifies the Elks motto of “So long as there are veterans, they will never be forgotten.” This
exciting event is free! There will be sandwiches served on the patio as well as music by Pat
Travis and The Barley Bros.
Labels are attached to the flagpole with the honoree’s name, donor’s name, and a statement
–then placed in the field by the donor and/or a vveteran. After placement, the flags fly with
majestic waves to honor those who have fought for our country’s freedom or are honored by a
family member for whatever reason. A booklet is created with the names and locations of the
special flags.
The Mission of the Field of Honor is to Honor and Benefit active and Reserve Duty Military,
Veterans, and 1 st Responders, to Inspire patriotism and love of our flag and its heritage, to
Educate our children that visit during school field trips, and to Unify our communities in
respectively honoring our flag, our country, and our military, veterans, and 1 st responders.
The charge for each flag is $35. This includes the flag, the information label, the pole, and
booklet. The proceeds from the 2023 Field of Honor Flag sales will directly benefit veterans and
1 st responder organizations that address suicide prevention, PTSD, and support veterans and 1 st
responder families.
There is a form to be completed (attached) that includes the honoree’s name, and a statement
– they are also available at the Elks Lodge, or you can contact Cynthia Barclay at

You can also remit a check and the order form to the Evergreen Elks Lodge #2363, P O Box 298,
Evergreen, CO 80437-0298. Make sure your phone number is on the check so we can get
further information from you. Also, in the memo section on the check write “Field of Honor”.
Please submit your request by May 1st so that the flag can be ordered and arrive in time for
this event.
