The Mountain Parks Unit of the Jefferson County League of Women Voters will meet Feb. 11 in the Evergreen area to begin a review and update of the LWVUS position on agriculture. At this meeting, the League will examine genetic engineering of crops and genetically modified organisms (GMOs), food labeling and other related topics. All meetings are open to the public. The LWV is a nonpartisan political organization that neither supports nor opposes candidates from any party. The League's mission is to promote informed and active participation in government and to influence public policy through education and advocacy after consideration by its members.
