115 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose. 75% of opioid overdose deaths occur outside of a medical setting. Family members, friends, and bystanders are often best positioned for timely intervention to prevent an overdose death. The Colorado AmeriCorps Community Opioid Response Program (CORP), in cooperation with Jefferson County Public Health, will host an opioid overdose prevention and naloxone (Narcan®) administration training. Community members who attend will receive a free Narcan kit provided by JCPH.
