(after training, successful team members are invited to earn additional hours supporting the ResqRanch, Dr. Questen's Animal Sanctuary in Evergreen)

Job Summary:
The Veterinary Assistant will learn to play a vital role in providing excellent medical care and support for our animal patients. This position is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a veterinary setting and contribute to the smooth daily operations of the hospital, ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong passion for animal welfare and a willingness to learn and work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities (with training and guidance provided):

Assist veterinarians and experienced technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.

Learn to collect and prepare laboratory samples and assist with basic laboratory procedures.

Learn to monitor and record vital signs of patients under anesthesia and during recovery.

Assist with patient restraint and handling.

Learn to educate clients on basic animal care, medication administration, and post-operative instructions.

Assist in maintaining accurate and detailed patient records (paper and digital).

Assist in preparing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment.

Help ensure a clean and organized working environment.

Collaborate closely with all team members to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.

Learn to address patient or client concerns with the support of senior team members.

Adhere to hospital protocols and safety procedures.
